Coachhouse Writers is a long-established group of enthusiastic wordsmiths who meet weekly for mutual support, development and entertainment.
Our Tuesday morning sessions (10am until noon) at Norton Community Centre, Stourbridge, are mainly self-managed but we enjoy occasional workshops from visiting professional writers. In both cases our aim is to explore and improve our creative writing skills in poetry and prose, whether fiction or non-fiction, in a friendly and constructive environment.
Everyone is encouraged to prepare a piece in advance, based on suggested topics, to read out during the morning. Then there’s an opportunity for other members to comment. This isn’t as scary as it may sound, and is an excellent way of gaining in confidence and honing our skills.
We also have plenty of laughs along the way!
